On Wednesday morning, a 37-year-old mother, Renee Nicole Good, was shot and killed at the hands of a federal ICE agent. Federal reports coming from the White House, as well as President Trump via social media, state that the incident was an act of self-defense, while local officials like Mayor Frey and Governor Walz dispute such claims. Multiple eyewitnesses have stated that Renee was attempting to flee the scene when the agent opened fire on her, once through her front windshield and twice more through her driver’s side window. The conflicting reports have now led to the FBI officially taking over the investigation. Renee was not the first victim of such violence, nor the last. Today, two more people were shot in Portland, Oregon, by federal agents. These shootings have sparked public outrage and protests all across the country, demanding law enforcement accountability.
